SELECTED PAPERS 1950-2007

These are divided roughly according to their main themes, and listed more or less in order of publication. Except for a few typographical errors, none has been edited. There is therefore much overlap, because virtually all of them have a socioeconomic and historical approach whatever their subject. Even the research papers manage somehow to include this, except for the one on tuberculin sensitivity, which was written almost entirely by Archie Cochrane and Ian Higgins, after I had left Archie’s unit – included only because it was my first research publication. Graham Watt was main author for all the publications, and most of the work, on dietary sodium and arterial pressure. Almost all the others were single author publications. For the few with multiple authors, I wrote the text in all cases.
